Warmth / Colors / Patterns
We offer area rugs that come in many different styles and designs, so it’s easy to find the right look for you.
No matter what your tastes, décor, or preferences are, we can help. More dramatic area rugs that are so breathtaking in color and design are like works of art. Rugs can change the feel of a space in minutes—so you can do a room makeover on your lunch hour. Rugs look great layered over carpet or adding warmth and color to hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and tile.
Here are a few tips to get you started—because it’s important to know the major decision points in shopping for this exciting purchase:
Color. Light-colored rugs make a room seem airy, while darker styles create an intimate feeling.
Pattern. If you are looking to create a focal point, opt for bold colors and more active or ornate designs. But if a rug’s purpose is to quietly complement existing décor, a solid color or subtle pattern works best.
Durability. In a room with heavy traffic, a solid, dark rug works best to disguise wear and tear. For an heirloom that will survive generations, invest in a rug with timeless design and sturdy construction.

The best way to keep a rug in place is with a non-slip pad for use over hard surface or carpet. A rug pad should cover 95% of the rug. It should be approximately an inch to the end of your rug. We can easily custom rug pads for you.
Please be sure to reference your area rug warranty for specific care requirements! For your general information, however, here are some basic tips and facts:
Regular cleaning: Regular vacuuming will help rugs retain their beauty and will extend their useful life. In light to medium traffic areas, vacuum twice weekly. In the heavy traffic areas, vacuum daily.
Shag-type rugs: Care must be taken to protect the cable yarn when you’re vacuuming your rug. Long yarns tend to wrap around beater-bars, and vacuum brushes will damage the fiber. So disconnect the beater-bar (consult your vacuum owner’s manual) to avoid this damage. You may wish to buy a carpet rake to use in conjunction with your vacuum. With the beater-bar disconnected, set your vacuum to the lowest height setting (for best suction); rake the carpet to loosen soil, and then follow with the vacuum!
Occasional cleaning: Professional carpet cleaning is recommended periodically using the hot water extraction method. Do not dry clean your rugs or use bleach.
Handling spills: Clean food and beverage spills immediately. Blot with a clean cloth, then spot clean with a solution of clear dishwashing detergent and water (1/4 tsp dishwashing detergent to 1 quart of warm water). Rinse with water and blot dry. Do not dry clean and do not bleach. BLOT ONLY! Do not rub or scrub!
